The partnership brings COLIBRIX ONE’s acquiring capabilities into Primer's unified payments infrastructure through an integration built and owned entirely by COLIBRIX ONE. Subscription merchants gain access to smart routing, automatic fallbacks and independent card vaulting, helping them get more from every renewal without switching providers or writing a line of new code.

COLIBRIX ONE, a full-stack payments infrastructure for international digital businesses, has built and now owns its integration into Primer’s unified payments infrastructure through Primer for Partners. The integration makes COLIBRIX ONE's acquiring capabilities available to merchants using Primer, giving subscription businesses greater flexibility in how they process and recover recurring payments.

Primer for Partners is a platform for payment service providers (PSPs), alternative payment methods (APMs), and fraud tools to build integrations directly into Primer on their own timeline, without writing a single line of code. For COLIBRIX ONE, that means its team can maintain and evolve the connection directly, while its acquiring capabilities become available to merchants using Primer.

For subscription merchants, the integration brings COLIBRIX ONE's acquiring together with Primer's payment infrastructure. Merchants can now process recurring payments through COLIBRIX ONE while using Primer to manage payment flows across providers, including routing and fallback strategies, from a single connection.

COLIBRIX ONE Helps Businesses Get More From Every Renewal

For a subscription business, the decisive moment is not only the first sale but every renewal that follows. A customer signs up once, and from then on the payment has to clear automatically each billing cycle, without anyone reviewing or approving it. This is where revenue can leak: a card expires between two billing dates, or an acquirer has a few seconds of downtime during a nightly billing run and a whole batch of renewals fails at once. In each case, a paying customer is lost to involuntary churn: not a conscious decision to leave, just a single charge that failed to go through.

COLIBRIX ONE provides a single payment API covering every charge across the US, UK and Europe through all major card networks, as well as Apple Pay and Google Pay. It supports fixed, per-seat and usage-based pricing, so a business can set and change its billing logic without rebuilding the integration or asking customers to re-authorise. Real-time analytics show cash flow and subscription health as the charges run.

With the COLIBRIX ONE integration built directly into Primer, merchants can add another layer of flexibility to that payment setup. Primer can route payments according to the merchant's configured payment strategy and use Primer Fallbacks to send eligible failed or declined payments to a backup processor, creating another opportunity for the payment to succeed.

Primer Retries a Failed Charge Before It Becomes Churn

Primer takes over the moment a charge does not clear on the first attempt. When a renewal is soft-declined or the acquiring path is briefly unavailable, Primer's fallback retries the same charge through a backup processor within seconds. This gives the merchant another opportunity to recover the payment without requiring the customer to re-enter their card details or go through the payment process again.

Primer also handles 3D Secure independently of the underlying payment provider. Once a customer has completed authentication, that authentication can be applied if the payment needs to be retried through another processor, so the customer does not have to authenticate again. For subscription merchants, this removes another point of friction from the recovery process and gives a failed renewal a better chance of succeeding on the next attempt.

The rules behind these payment flows remain configurable by the merchant. Payments team can set routing and fallback conditions visually through Primer's drag-and-drop Workflows, allowing them to adapt their payment strategy without requiring a new engineering project each time they want to change how payments are handled.

Ready to Run, Nothing to Rebuild

A business already processing with COLIBRIX ONE gets this recovery layer without having to rebuild. It keeps its acquirer, its pricing logic and its saved customers, and gains Primer's routing, vaulting and retries on top, connected through Primer for Partners with no new integration and no re-authorisation for the end customer.

Since COLIBRIX ONE owns this integration rather than relying on Primer to maintain it, the company can develop and update the connection on its own roadmap. Once updates are ready, they can be made available to merchants using the integration without waiting for a Primer engineering release. That is the model behind Primer for Partners: providers build and own their integrations, while merchants gain access to more payment capabilities through the infrastructure they already use.

Merchants also keep the COLIBRIX ONE service model: a dedicated account manager who handles onboarding and stays with them from the first transaction onwards, with compliance verification and background checks completed within 48 hours so the move to live processing is quick.

"A subscription business mostly loses customers at renewal, one failed charge at a time," says Olya Oleh, Head of Partnership and Business Development at COLIBRIX ONE. "Our acquiring gets the charge through, and Primer recovers the ones that slip, so together they let a merchant keep more of the subscribers they have already won without changing the provider they trust."
"COLIBRIX ONE built this themselves, on their own timeline, and it reached every merchant on Primer the moment it was ready. That's what Primer for Partners is for," says Charlotte Yates, Partnerships Manager at Primer. "That means subscription businesses keep the acquiring they already trust, and recover the renewals that would otherwise have churned in the background."
